Location Squirrels

When I was doing location studies this week, I saw about 23,095,743,987 squirrels, give or take.  The squirrels here are very creepy and don't fear humans.  It doesn't help that there is a man who comes every afternoon and feeds them.  I recently saw this man rummaging through bushes in search of squirrel friends.  So I moved away to finish later...

Here are a couple of location studies from the weekend:
Location studies. Oh boy!

Contrary to popular belief WOW is not an acronym for "Whales Orbiting Wales" or "Waldo Ostracizes Wallabies" but rather "Word of the Week."  This week is Home.  I feel at home when I can just read a book in pajamas on a La-Z Boy chair.

I'm not particularly happy with this piece but I've got a couple of essays to work on and if I continue to mess with this I'll be at the computer for a couple hours..

I am pleased that I drew the book so it wasn't opened exactly to the middle like most depictions of books, which is a pet peeve of mine.

Okay the longer I see this picture the more I'm finding problems with it so I'm just going to post this "and just walk away!"

Cube Rotation...And Beyond!

The title makes this sound more interesting than it is.  Just happy that I don't need to do cubes for a bit--ILLUSTRATION TIME!  I will post the illustration soon (before next Tuesday sometime).

Before college, I took a Gap Year.  I travelled to Europe and China, and interned at a company for several months.  At this company were giant whiteboards.  That's probably all the explanation I need..

Some of the network names you see in a college dorm.

Maroon 5 Concert

This isn't really drawing, but it's art.  I recently went to a Maroon 5 concert.  They're my favorite band.

I like other artists and duos, but Maroon 5 is #1 for bands in my book.  I've been a fan since about 2005 and was very excited when I learned Adam Levine would be on The Voice.  They would be (re)introduced to more people (again)!

Maroon 5 writes their own songs, and sounds the same live as on cds, which is rare today.  They also don't use Autotune.

In class we're focusing on perplexing perspective and captivating cubes!  I thought I understood perspective, but I don't.  Though I now have an interesting perspective on it.

I drew this toaster before we went in depth on one- and two-point perspective:

Summer Sketchbook 2011

I was fortunate enough to travel a lot this summer.  I drew many of the people that stayed still, responses to presentations, and some locations.  There are also many random doodles.  One drawing in the lower left is my attempt at Alphonse Mucha's "Princess Hyacinth" and the rest are from movies I watched on plane rides (I would pause on interesting poses and draw that).
(The ducks at the bottom here are from a Powerpoint presentation slide. I liked them so I drew them).
